Hyderabad rewards slow travel. Plan the old city, with Charminar and Laad Bazaar, early, when the lanes are quieter. Save Golconda Fort for late afternoon, and stay for the evening show if it is running. Between sightseeing, eat well: a plate of biryani, Irani chai and a box of Osmania biscuits are non-negotiable.
